Many movies teach us something and Harry Potter is one of such movies. The question is that what did I learn from it? Let’s see :

Karma takes a “U” turn

Stop being a bully if you are powerful because when Karma takes a “U” turn, it screws you the way you screwed others. James Potter, Harry Potter’s father, is always talked about as a positive figure, until “The Order of Phoenix” when Harry penetrates into Snape’s mind and finds out that Snape was innocent and was often bullied in the hands of James Potter. If analyzed, his character is the same as Malfoy’s. James Potter is shown to be arrogant just like a “pure blood” wizard and is shown to overpower and bother the weaker ones. This spoiled brat ends up losing his life and his entire family to the hands of another evil character “Voldemort.”

The Sweet ones must be feared

Not everyone who is bitter is evil and not everyone who is sweet is a well-wisher. The sweetest ones are the backstabbers and the bitter ones might just spare you. One such example is that of Quirinus Quirrell and Snape in the very first Harry Potter movie. Quirinus is shown to be a victim in the hands of Snape and Snape is shown to be hating Harry. At the end, the audience realizes that Quirinus, the sweet one, carried Voldemort with him and Snape is shown to be saving Harry throughout.

Beware of Cho Changs

Beware of Cho Changs, as smiles and attraction don’t make the other person deserving of your love. They can be weak to get you killed in the hands of your enemies. Let Ginny Weasley arrive and she would stand by you in the toughest times, without moving a bit. Cho Chang, who looks the best fit for Harry, ends up losing her courage to Malfoy and telling him about the Dumbledore’s army being trained by Harry (order of the Phoenix). On the other hand, Ginny growls at Malfoy and asks him to leave Harry alone while Malfoy is troubling Harry in the bookstore in the Chamber of Secrets. In the half blood prince, Ginny runs after Harry to save him from the death eaters without thinking of the consequences. She is the one to get perturbed seeing Harry’s dead body in the hands of Hagrid, in the last part. Ginny matches Harry’s spirit of courage and wisdom in all ways.

The Role of Teachers

If the teachers are loved and respected they will take care of you, come what may. Harry Potter is shown to respect his teachers and is therefore always supported by Dumbledore, Remus Lupin, Snape, Alastor Moody and Professor McGonagall. If noticed, it is his behavior and his subtlety towards his teachers that keeps them head over heels for Harry. Teachers are always more experienced than the student and if a student is taken care of by a good teacher, one doesn’t have to look back ever. Dumbledore is always shown to come between Harry and Voldemort during their confrontation and without him, Harry might have lost it in the very beginning.

Your energy attracts you your group

People with the same energy get to meet each other no matter what.Voldemort had his own group where the people are as evil as he is. On the other hand, Harry meets Ron and his family first and then Hermione. For his positive side, he meets Dumbledore and is protected by his loyal ones. Voldemort too is protected by his loyal ones all through. The kind of people a person meets depends on the kind of energy that flows through one’s soul. If you are surrounded by people you think aren’t good enough, change your energy or your state of mind.

Expecto Petronum

For this spell to be successful, Harry was told to focus on all the good times he had had. Dementors are told to rely a lot on one’s negative emotions and only when a person summons his positive memories, he is able to use this spell to defeat them. So is the case in our real life, that if we focus on negative emotions too much or our mind is saturated by bad memories, we would have more of negativity and would have more people harming us. To defeat the negativity, we will have to start appreciating what we have and focus on all the healthy and beautiful moments we have had.

Keep Going

Keep going until you achieve what you have desired for. Harry is a synonym for persistence and courage and he fights back every time he is needed to. He isn’t ever shown to be losing his will and in the end, he wins and saves Hogwarts from the clutches of Voldemort. With no intention to become evil, he even throws away the wand that could have made him the most powerful wizard.
