“He doesn’t give me time and usually carries his office home,” said Tina. “He wants time to read or write when free and in fact watches all those boring knowledge channels which anyone would dislike,” she continued.
“You are one unlucky bitch,” giggled Nita.
“I am unlucky for sure and I need to make him a little fun loving I think,” said Tina.
“Who are you bitches talking about today,” a confident and dominating female voice was heard from behind. It was Rashmi.
Rashmi was one of those who found happiness even in the heap of crises. Her ability came from her level of understanding of the situations and the people around. She was feared in regular kitty parties as she was a woman of substance and was mostly solution oriented. She claimed it took her time to be what she was and now it keeps her happy always.
Her level of understanding came from all those books she read on human behavior, psychology and Motivation. She could be like the situation demanded without much friction or effort. She was a dream come true to Rajesh who had married her and being a housewife, she managed the household chores with ease and could take out time to read all those wonderful books she always wanted to read.
“So Tina again has trouble with what she has got and the poor man is being bitched about, ” said Rashmi. “I pity he married you,” she continued.
Tina was upset over not getting any emotional support from Rashmi and instead, she blamed her to be so mean to her man. Tina wanted to retaliate but somewhere down she knew that what he does is just beyond her own understanding and not something she doesn’t want him to do.
Tina asked, “what would you have done with a man like that?”
“I would have helped him manage his time and supported him in fulfilling his dreams. Why would I have asked him to come home early when working gave him happiness. Would he be happy coming home to you when he wanted to complete a project? You are one of those dumb women who would want every luxury but can’t sacrifice for the efforts involved.”
“Don’t I and his child deserve his time?”
“How much time do you need, you whore? A man from the ancient times hasn’t fed children or done those little household chores. Especially a man like yours, who holds strength, mental and physical, to take him further. He won’t come and change diapers. He would better create opportunities every day to make your life resourceful and easy gradually.”
“How could you being a woman say that changing diapers is inferior?”
“That’s why I avoid talking to women of little understanding like yours. Where does inferiority come into the picture? Let’s go back and check the role of a man from the primitive times. A man would build a house, guard that house sitting outside the whole night and seeing that the family inside is safe. The man, due to his strength would lead the group and would fight any trouble that would seem approaching. He would fight battles to get resources, riches and pleasures back home. He would keep planning battles with his fellow men to keep the resources coming, keep winning and keep standing like a strong pillar. A man is someone who keeps adding to the sources to get riches, keeps fighting the battles outside so that they don’t reach in.”
Tina felt as if Rashmi was defining her husband and she heard to it carefully.
“Stand by his side and let him know that you are going to be a part of every plan he makes. If not possible to help, you would stand by him emotionally and not crib about anything. Seek a little time as and when he is around and make the most of it even if it is just a few minutes in a day. You don’t need to make him sit in your laps and be your baby for the whole weekend. Tell him that as he grows, the whole family moves a stair up. Tina, any woman you are jealous of, or any lady who you think he is friends with, is the one who is taking up this role. She has understood, that this man is a man of ambitions for his family and himself. She knows he needs someone who would stand by every right and wrong plan he makes and supports him in everything he does, unconditionally.”
Rashmi continued, “let me tell you if you wish to die mediocre, leave him and he would still make a mark. In case you want to make life tough for yourself and him, keep doing what you do. Keep cribbing and complaining and he would leave you one day. And if you wish to stay with him, with no intention to leave him or him leaving you or another woman hijacking your position, be the kind of queen who knows and understands how men have lived and what their DNA demands. Be the queen a man bows to, not because she is pretty or fun loving, but because she is protective, someone he wears like armor over himself and who stands by him in everything he plans, says or wishes to achieve.”
Tina nodded as if she had understood it and sipped the drink she had in her hand. She was in deep thought and the smile on her face revealed that she would be a different woman soon.
