A wonderful application that was created to keep people close to each other, no matter how far they are. Lately, I felt I was falling sick in the hands of this app Whatsapp and thought of deleting it. Only after deleting it I realized how sick I was with it. It leads to a strong addiction which results in a weak mind. Let’s understand how.
How often do you check WhatsApp? Almost every minute, every 10 minutes or the maximum people keep it away is 1 hour and then it has to be checked. In most of the cases, it doesn’t have anything beneficial or urgent. It provides with a sudden relief from the boredom we are in. We aren’t able to keep our mind silent for a minute and every minute or 10 minutes the mind is feeling bored. Strange, isn’t it? The nerves are turning weak and they demand WhatsApp or a message or an appreciation or a silly forwarded joke or even a silly forwarded news every minute or 10 minutes. Isn’t it a stage of mental sickness where the brain needs a message from someone or the other to keep oneself entertained. Then what about the place we are sitting in. How would I cherish the moments around with this mental sickness that forces me to put my head into the device, looking for new statuses, profile pics or a forwarded message?
I deleted it and realized, I haven’t read a book in the last 6 months. Whenever I sat to read, I would check WhatsApp every 10 minutes, losing focus again and again. The ability to learn was depleting and my socializing skills were getting worse as I was socially active on WhatsApp and not in the real world. The craze to meet my relatives, friends, and cousins didn’t prevail as they were always with me. How could I keep them with me always? Let there me sometime after which I meet them to feel good about the meeting.
I also realized the sensations the mobile device emits when I didn’t keep the mobile in my hand for a long time. I felt mentally and physically stronger.
If you are going through WhatsApp mental sickness of having weak nerves and checking it once in every 5 to 10 minutes, it’s time to heal before it turns to some other major sickness.
