Before I start writing anything, let me assure you that this is not a paid article and every bit of this article comes from my own experience as a faculty member in this college.
PSIT (Pranveer Singh Institute of technology) is a well-known college in Kanpur and these are the reasons that make it wonderful for the students and their parents :
Vision: People who have offered their services to this college have seen it growing every day. Not only does it provide B.Tech but is about to give out its first lot of BBA. It has MBA, and will soon have more courses introduced. Something new has been added to its infrastructure, management, and pedagogy every year to make it stand out from the crowd. It has prospered under the vision of Mr. Pranveer Singh and the management of Ms. Shefali Raj.
Discipline: A parent is sure that the child is there at the college and is attending the classes. The attendance system is such that the parent can check on a daily basis if the child was there in a class or not. 90% attendance is compulsory to make sure that the student attends all the classes. Any sort of mischief or misbehavior can lead to a student getting suspended from the college. The classes are equipped with CCTV cameras which are under the supervision of the class coordinators. The coordinators see that the classes are going smooth and no one is using a mobile phone in the class.
Infrastructure: The student doesn’t have to struggle with the heat of summers as the classrooms are equipped with Air conditioners which are functional in the scorching summer of April and May. They remain functional till the winters start and the student is able to focus on what is being taught than fanning oneself. The auditorium makes one feel royal and the buses are a cherry on the cake. Also, the buses just mentioned, are Air-conditioned and comfortable. The hostels are no less when it comes to cleanliness and maintenance.

Regular Audits: The teachers are kept under a scrutiny that if they are teaching well or not. There is a lesson plan that is to be followed and everything that is a part of the syllabus has to be taught with utmost diligence. The teacher updates what he/she has taught in the class right after every lecture and therefore there remains transparency between the college management and the teacher.
Student Feedback: The students give a feedback of the teachers who teach them and in case there is an issue with the way they are being taught, they can keep it across and get it sorted. The teachers who do not receive a good feedback are either trained by their seniors or are warned in strict terms.
Student Audits: Making notebooks for every subject is compulsory and therefore the student has no choice but to write every point that is being dictated in the class. The notebooks are checked by the respective teachers and a few are even checked by the Chief Proctor who randomly selects a few names from the student list to check the notebooks.
Security: There are security guards all over the place, who see that no one is found misbehaving in the corridors or even roaming around while the classes are going on. The gates are strongly guarded and so are the hostels. The girls’ hostel has its Chief Warden as Dr. Garima Williams, who has worked with PSIT for more than 10 years and not a single mishap has ever taken place under her supervision. Also, the staff of the girl’s hostel is as strict as the security guards around and doesn’t allow boys even around the girl’s hostel ever. There are strict timings for both boys and girls and even boys are not allowed to go out of the main gate every day. In case of tuitions, they have to take a permission from the authorities and that is when they are set free for not more than 3 days in a week. However, the campus in itself provides so many facilities with lush green gardens to take evening walks and pathways to run and exercise, that no one would be willing to move out unnecessarily.
Training Sessions: Other than the regular classes, PSIT has made sure that the students are trained in English and Soft skills. The program is refurbished every semester by some senior Verbal Trainers (including me), to make it more effective and beneficial for the students. The students are divided into groups on the basis of their level in English and then they are taught to be promoted to Advance level in communication and aptitude before they are made to sit in the placement drives in the final year.
These few things make the students hardworking and the parents satisfied. In a way, it prepares the students to be the best and face the real world with a smile on their face.
