Padman, starring Akshay Kumar, has proved itself at the box office by earning over Rs. 59 Crores on its sixth day after release. What makes this movie a must watch?

  • Akshay has been giving meaningful messages through his movies like Toilet, Airlift, and Rustom and these movies were obviously based on real-life incidents and had taught something.

  • Padman is a must watch for the men who consider menstruation a funny business. A girl is scared to buy sanitary pads in front of men in a supermarket. Men are seen laughing at it and a woman cannot talk about her safe days openly. If it’s a natural process making reproduction possible, what makes it funny and what should a girl/woman be scared of? Another reason for this mentality is that the society is ruled by men and the private parts of a woman are still not respected. They are either seen with lust, laughter or ridicule.

  • The movie is a success story of an entrepreneur named Arunachalam Muruganantham, who invented low-cost sanitary pad making machine and created menstrual hygiene in his village.

  • It would highlight the hygiene factor that these sanitary pads provide and the women who are unaware of it might want to adopt it too. Many women in villages keep leaves and other unhygienic stuff to keep bleeding hidden.

It should be free for the students of senior classes and the government should promote it at its own end. It should be shown in villages and women should be made to watch it.
